Towing in Jersey City, NJ: Downtown, Journal Square, the Heights and Greenville, from Route 440 to the Holland Tunnel approach
Jersey City is the heart of Hudson County and the place our trucks work most once they cross the bay. The Extension drops them at Exit 14B by Liberty State Park or 14C downtown, about 28 minutes from the Linden yard. From there Route 440, Kennedy Boulevard and Route 139 reach every district.
Jersey City towing district by district: what goes wrong where, and which truck we send
Jersey City calls run from AWD cars stuck in Downtown and Newport garages, to stalls in the Journal Square traffic, to boxed-in cars on the Heights' narrow blocks, to crashes on Route 440 along Greenville and the west side, all at the same $149 by phone or $129 if you book online.
Downtown, Newport and the Holland Tunnel approach
High-rise garages at Newport, Harborside and Exchange Place hold a lot of AWD and electric cars, and those go on a flatbed. Tell the dispatcher the building and the level so the driver checks clearance first.
Around the I-78 approach and Route 139, traffic backs up toward the tunnel most of the day. Once the Port Authority moves a stalled car out of the tube, we collect it on the Jersey City side.
Journal Square and Kennedy Boulevard
The PATH hub, the bus terminal and the stores around the Square pack the curbs, and Kennedy Boulevard runs straight through. A wheel-lift loads fast so the buses keep moving. Jump starts and lockouts near the station are one flat price each.
The Heights and Palisade Avenue
Steep cross streets, tight parking and blocks of row houses along the ridge above Hoboken. If a car is boxed in at the curb, the driver can set it on skates and slide it out.
Give the cross street and which side of the block you are on, since many streets here run one way.
Greenville, Route 440 and Liberty State Park
Greenville and the west side border Newark Bay along Route 440, with retail strips, industrial lots and the light rail on Garfield Avenue. Liberty State Park and Liberty Science Center sit right off Exit 14B. Turnpike and Parkway shoulders are served by the Authority's authorized garages. Book with us and we take the car from the exit or the garage's lot.

Call nowJersey City: common questions
Short answers to what people ask about this page; the dispatcher can answer the rest.
How long does it take a truck to reach Jersey City from Linden?
About 28 minutes by the Extension to Exit 14B or 14C. Jersey City is where our trucks work most, so one is often already a few blocks away.
Can you pull a car out of a Newport or Harborside garage?
Usually. Give the dispatcher the building, the level and the clearance posted at the entrance, and she sends a truck that fits or plans dollies. The price is set before the driver goes in.
My car died near Jersey City Medical Center. Can you help?
Yes. The driver brings a jump pack and a lockout kit, each one flat price. If it needs a tow, it goes on the same visit to the shop you choose.
Do you cover Greenville and the Route 440 side of the city?
Yes. Greenville, Bergen-Lafayette and the west side along Route 440 are direct dispatch, at the same booking fee as Downtown.
